Jesse Boykins III - True Artistry & Friendship
Today my good brother, and I say this with 100% seriousness as I only have one biological brother with the other being Jesse Boykins III releases his album Love Apparatus. I found it necessary to give my 2 cents on Jesse, as a musician but also just as a ride or die friend. In this industry it may be difficult to find true friends who support your personal growth but also your creative growth.
Even with me towering over him several feet aha, I have always and still consider Jesse my older brother. We both met when I was 18 years old, and I thought I had the world figured out but you can count on Jesse to tell you how he feels 100% even if you don’t want to hear it. He would give me advice on Street Etiquette back in the early days when I was still under my parents roof, and I would be like “Man.. stick to music, this is style/fashion ha” but everything he told me literally opened my mind.
He has always been about the mission being more than music, and it’s the same I felt about fashion, those things just being a catalyst to lure/excite people in.
Now fast forward 5/6 years he releases this masterpiece of an album, produced by Machine Drum called Love Apparatus. To keep in mind he has been working on this album before the alternative downtempo R&B wave existed, now it’s super popular and the tracks off of Love App still sound before their time.
Didn’t mean to scribe bromantic letters first thing in the morning ha, but I really wanted people to know I wouldn’t be where I’m at right now if it wasn’t for my brother Jesse Boykins III. So yeah , go download/buy that record just listen to it
